Our second unit of inquiry is "Planning a Trip." The central idea is: There are many different components to organizing a successful trip . In this unit we will be asking the students : 1. What skills are necessary to plan a successful field trip? 2. What are the different elements of planning a field trip? 3. How are these elements connected to each other? 4. What responsibilities do we have before and during a trip? We will be thinking about: ·skills involved in planning a trip ·The elements of a successful trip(making an itinerary, choosing a route, having a budget) ·Purposes of a trip ·Responsible travel(what to bring,leaving footprints-taking pictures/memories) ·Planning a field trip In mathematics we are studying the concepts of addition and linear measurement. Brainpop is one of these. There are often related topics on brainpop. The information can be very helpful. For extra reading and some fun activities tumblebooks is a great resource.
