Our second unit of inquiry is "Planning a Trip."
The central idea is:
There are many different components to organizing a successful trip .
In this unit we will be asking the students :

1. What skills are necessary to plan a successful field trip?
2. What are the different elements of planning a field trip?
3. How are these elements connected to each other?
4. What responsibilities do we have before and during a trip?
We will be thinking about:

·skills involved in planning a trip
·The elements of a successful trip(making an itinerary, choosing a route, having a budget)
·Purposes of a trip
·Responsible travel(what to bring,leaving footprints-taking pictures/memories)
·Planning a field trip

In mathematics we are studying the concepts of addition and linear measurement.

The information can be very helpful. For extra reading and some fun activities tumblebooks is a great resource. You can read the books yourself or have them read to you and even practice your comprehension skills.
